The Salt Lake Valley Firefighters Association (SLVFA) was established in 1993 by founding members Kim Passey and C. J. Lawrence to represent firefighters throughout the valley — firefighters with both Salt Lake City and the Unified Fire Authority (Salt Lake County).
The charitable purpose of the SLVFA is to recognize firefighters for outstanding performance, to introduce legislation on both firefighter and community service issues, and to support the University of Utah Burn Center’s Burn Camp.
Our goal, as a group, is to create awareness of the firefighters job and our efforts to maintain the high ideals and professional standards of firefighters. We also strive to provide a forum for communication between firefighters as well as providing information regarding “fire service” to members of the community.
The funds we raise are used to further these ideals and goals.
